Marquette Police Department
Marquette PD Activity Reports for the month of May.
During the month of May the Marquette Police Department responded to a total of 41 incidents, including 23 traffic stops which resulted in 11 municipal citations being issued. Additionally during the month of May, the Marquette Police Department conducted 2 case investigations, one of which is a current pending Felony Investigation through McPherson County District Court.
Attached to this report is a breakdown of calls for service for the Marquette Police Department during the month of March.
On May 24th the Marquette Police Department participated in the second annual Safety Day Event, which was hosted by Marquette EMS. The event was well attended and both Chief Elmer and Captain Webb were in attendance. Children, and some adults, were given the opportunities to see different equipment used by the Police Department and got to try on Captain Webb’s vest and check out the patrol car.
In addition to the case reports below, the Marquette Police Department was requested to assist the Lindsborg Police Department on May 31st with an urgent check the welfare call in their city. Upon arriving at the residence the Lindsborg Officer observed a large amount of blood in the residence and requested assistance. Officer made entry into the residence and located an elderly patient in serious condition after suffering from a fall and not being able to call for help.

05/14/24 24-024 Request for Prosecution Submitted District #107
The Marquette Police Department was notified of possible child abuse that had occurred earlier in the day on May 14th. A young child suffered first and second degree burns to their legs and feet. The investigation is currently ongoing and is being conducted jointly with the Kansas Department of Children and Families and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
05/17/24 24-025 Trespassing Info Report #107
A citizen reported having issues with three individuals continuously showing up at their house after being asked not to. Citizen requested the three individuals be served with a trespass warning and advised if they continue charges would be filed. All three individuals were located and served the notices.
